A gem of a documentary about how revolutions today are set up by professional consultants and paid for with US funds. For example, regimes have been overthrown from Yugoslavia to Egypt and regimes in countries such as Syria and Iran are put under great pressure. And all this with a kind of copy paste model that is rolled out in these countries and where the youth is professionally trained. Wasn't the Arab Spring as spontaneous as the mainstream media led us to believe? Watch the half-hour documentary entitled The Revolution Business:
In the documentary comes the handbook entitled: “From Dictatorship To Democracy ”(pdf book), from Gene Sharp, a few times as an important part of the instruction for these regime changes. It can be found on the internet for free as a PDF and is well worth reading. In this TEDx talk, the leader of these trainings also explains how to overthrow a dictator.
It is especially interesting to see that there is a real pattern in all these uprisings because in completely different countries exactly the same logos appear.
The question I asked myself is whether it is so bad that the US is doing this and a second question is whether this strategy might be useful to bring some power and democracy back to the people in the Netherlands. Or is it really just a piece of propaganda and weapons of war to open up countries to the international banking cartels and corporatocracy of the Western powers?
And the emphasis on the peaceful resistance that this method propagates? Is that real idealism, or is the CIA brainwashing the youth of these countries so that when they take over with their companies etc. they do not have to count on resistance with violence? The US itself does not seem to find it a problem at all to liquidate people who stand in their way and to carpet bomb countries that do not cooperate, even if that results in a few million civilian casualties if we John Perkins who wrote Confessions of an Economic Hitmanmust believe. In short, it seems that the US itself does not use this handbook that they place in the hands of foreign youth as a manual… What about that?
However you want to look at it, a book that is promoted and subsidized by the CIA and the US and that is a headache for regimes in Iran and Venezuela and banned in Russia is always interesting. The moral desirability of these kinds of actions is a very different perhaps very interesting discussion that can be had below.
